...was nearly expelled from his prep school at the age of 10. His crime? Richard has a phobia about cheese and threw a plate of cheese pie back
at the Headmaster who was trying to force him to eat it.
...is rare amongst organists as he does NOT indulge in train spotting. However he does own a huge Meccano set and he spends his
spare time (?) building large and complex models - on rare occasions these have been known to work.
...was never a hippy but he did grow his hair long (half way down his back) in his undergraduate days - for health and safety reasons
he avoids showing photographs of this period in his life to Rugbeians.
